Qatar is famous for springing up a few surprises on its locals. A bulldozed old building turns into a 21st century tower similar to the likes of Ann Rands Fountain head and so in the matter of days did sand turn into the luxury resort of Simaisma Murwab.
As most of my post start this one too arrived as an invitation to tour around this secret new location that wasn’t revealed to the public just quite yet. Thrilled to be one of the first to view it I was up early on viewing day to arrive at our meeting point location. Once the media gang had arrived we took a 15 minute bus ride away from Katara hospitality office located at losail city straight into the town of Simaisma and had landed ourselves at destination. So quick and so quite were my first reactions as we turned up at the gates of this new heavenly resort.
Simaisma Murwab Resort we were told boasts of 52 lush and plush villas ranging from 2 to 3 to 4 bedrooms each. All villas contain a fully equipped kitchen and a patio with 2 parking spots. Better if you opt for the 4 bed villa it comes with a private swimming pool just incase your feeling rich enough to not walk to the 3 other pools on the property.
Last month I had my in-laws visiting us and so in an effort to show them how much the country had developed since their last visit we decided to spend a night at the resort. Here’s a better view of the property.
Unfortunately as we stayed at the resort during opening week this is all we could find to munch on 😦 Most of the food outlets weren’t operational and I was very disappointed to find only a few items on the room service menu available. I would have ideally loved to have tried and reviewed the wonderful stuff listed on the menu. Another upsetting fact was knowing its being run by Katara hospitality. I sure did have higher expectations. I hope now after a month since opening more if not all food outlets are finally serving the resorts hungry guests. Sadly this for me took away a few brownie points 😦
The resort has an amazing promenade that goes straight into the sea. Its a perfect stretch to run or for a lazy romantic sunset walk.
We had a wonderful restful day at the resort and a lovely sumptuous breakfast the next morning that was included in the price. Day passes are also available for 150 QR Per person if you’re looking to have a quick getaway with the family. The resort has a strict policy of families only and unfortunately refrains bachelors, unmarried couples or just a group of friends from booking out the villas.
For those that do not fall with this category you will be able to enjoy the perfect staycation at Simaisma Murwab Resort.
