New Years may have past and delicacies may have been swallowed and  eaten however I see no reason for not sharing this famous dutch recipe and one of the country’s favorite winter treats.

Ingredients :

500 grams – All purpose flour

1 cup milk

1 egg

1/2 cup raisins – white and brown

1 packet – Yeast

1 teaspoon – Brown sugar

1 teaspoon – Salt

1 teaspoon – Cinnamon powder

Let the batter rest for an hour and once its risen heat a deep pan with vegetable oil and fry on high heat until dark brown (not burnt & black)

Once strained and retrieved from the oil let it rest and then sprinkle powder sugar before serving.

Bon Appetite or as they say in dutch – Eet Smakelijk!!
